    Death-cicles

I have been busy, but here is another one.

I cannot believe the icicles that have formed in Pennslyvania. It seems like after a snow fall, al the heat in the buildings escapes out through the uninsulated attics and melts the snow. I could not believe hearing dripping water on a freezing night while walking the dog. Some of the icicles are 7 feet long hanging from the 2nd story eves-throughs. Well I could not resist the urge to take some pictures.

    Adams Ridge Sundown

Did I mention I always carry my camera with me?  Well on my way to drop off the garbage at our Condo complex, I saw a great sunset developing.  I lucked out in finding a great electrical pedestal to rest my camera to get a steady shot.  Turns out I had to use HDR processing to get all the detail of the clouds, trees and the sun.  I just can't wait until the green hues of summer turn yellow, orange and red!

    Triple Threat

After a heavy rain storm the night before, the well site I was working on was full of puddles.  During a down time I looked for some interesting reflections after seeing what Eli Reinholdtsen's e-book demonstrated.  Her book is called Chasing Reflections and its a new e-book from David DuChemin's Craft & Vision site.

This shot I got the wind turbine, the sun and the water all in one frame.  I call it Triple Threat as it shows three of the renewable energy sources in one frame.  Now I cannot see wind, solar or hydro really overtaking fossil fuels any time soon, I am interested in what the next 5, 10 or 20 years will bring.

    Gotta love Chinooks!

This is my first time in Calgary where I have seen no meaningful snow on the ground in the middle of November.  We have seen some great weather this fall and when you see the Chinook arch forming in the west.  I know there is some camera shake as I am tripod-less right now and I had to resort to my Gorilla Pod.  I will be getting a new one soon and gone will be the camera shake.
I got this shot by laying on the grass, sliding the camera underneath the barbed wire fence and using a reverse graduated filter for the first time.
